Nuestra historia.

Sebastián Catllà y Josep Maria Claret recuperaron un viñedo histórico. Corría el año 1990 cuando Sebastián Catllà , un reconocido empresario del sector del metal, emprendió un singular proyecto vitivinícola conjuntamente con Josep Maria Claret. Se trataba de recuperar los viñedos de las fincas del Molino y de la Casanova de Monistrolet. Después de un intenso proceso de investigación, apostaron por un modelo de producción vinícola completamente ecológica, y se convirtieron en el primer bodega de la DO Pla de Bages a apostar desde el principio. Tres décadas después del arranque de aquel proyecto, Celler el Molí ha devuelto a la antigua imagen una gran parte del paisaje que, desde la filoxera, había desaparecido en esta zona limítrofe con Manresa. La viña y también los olivos caracterizan los pies del famoso cerro del Collbaix , muy conocido en el Bages por sus numerosos senderos y por las sensacionales vistas que ofrece sobre el Pla de Bages y hacia el macizo de Montserrat.

El inicio: Cabernet Sauvignon plantado a mano.
Con poco menos de veinte años de edad, José María Claret se dedicó a recorrer otras regiones vitivinícolas para conocer aspectos de la cultura del vino y de su cultivo. Así comenzó el proyecto Bodega el Molino, que en sus orígenes apostó por una variedad importada: Cabernet Sauvignon. La apuesta consistía en plantar a mano 3.000 cepas en la parcela 21, justo al pie del Collbaix. Entre los años 1993 y 2006, la finca del Molino experimentó un crecimiento progresivo. A esa primera hectárea de Cabernet Sauvignon se fueron sumando muchas más, así como nuevas variedades: Tempranillo y Merlot.

La obra que consolidó el proyecto: La bodega.
Llegó el año 2005 y se emprendió la construcción de la bodega en la finca del Molino. Josep Maria Claret recuerda que las obras "coincidieron con la primera tina de 8.000 litros de Merlot que llenamos y que no pudimos entrar en el interior de la bodega porque no estaba terminado". Con la nueva bodega levantado, la producción de Collbaix Celler el Molí crecía y se consolidaba: Se introdujeron el Picapoll Blanc, el Macabeo, el Cabernet Franc, el Mandó y la Garnacha Tinta, mientras la bodega entraba a formar parte de la DO Pla de Bages. Las tendencias de cada momento han hecho evolucionar la bodega, de la misma forma que avanzará de acuerdo con los nuevos gustos y con las técnicas más innovadoras del sector.

Compromiso ecológico.

Pioneros y firmes defensores de la agricultura ecológica, el respeto absoluto por la riqueza de la flora y la fauna que habitan la finca ha marcado, desde los inicios, el talante de Collbaix Celler el Molí. Justamente por eso, y mucho antes de que las palabras "ecológico", "sostenible" ó "respetuoso", se erigieran como conceptos de valor añadido en el argot vitivinícola, los propietarios de Bodega el Molino ya trabajaban bajo los parámetros propios de la agricultura orgánica. En 2005, la finca el Molino entró a formar parte del registro del Consejo Catalán de la Producción Agraria Ecológica (CCPAE) y se convirtió, de este modo, el primer bodega ecológica de la DO Pla de Bages. Cuando Collbaix Celler el Molí comenzó a producir aceite, también lo hizo dentro de los estándares del CCPAE, por lo que constituyó, también, la primera experiencia de producción de aceite ecológico en el Bages.

Biosphere.

Collbaix Celler el Molí, como empresa adherida al geoparque Mundial UNESCO de Asturias y por su compromiso con la sostenibilidad turística, ha obtenido el sello Biosphere, el sello de sostenibilidad turística, que es una certificación de sostenibilidad turística que reconoce la actividad empresarial bajo unos principios de sostenibilidad ambiental, económica y social que contribuyen al desarrollo respetuoso de actividades, tanto en la comarca y como en el conjunto de Cataluña. En el marco del Biosphere, trabajamos para que la gestión de la empresa a nivel interno sea óptima desde un punto de vista sostenible y eficiente, mediante la incorporación de estrictas manuales de buenas prácticas.
