Un referente en Rueda.

Bodega Cuatro Rayas es una de las bodegas referentes de la D.O. Rueda. Fundada en 1935, esta sociedad cooperativa tiene a 300 viticultores, y tiene su centro de operaciones está ubicado en La Seca, corazón de la denominación, a la que aporta más de un 20% de su producción. Posee más de 2.500 hectáreas de viñedo, principalmente de la variedad verdejo y con un gran porcentaje de cepas viejas. Las viñas se reparten en 30 municipios de Valladolid y Segovia. Un extenso patrimonio vitícola que le proporciona la mayor capacidad productiva de la región. Cuatro Rayas elabora vinos blancos, tintos, rosados, frizzantes y generosos, además de vermú, y exporta a más de 40 países. Con más de 80 años de historia a sus espaldas, esta bodega es una de las más potentes de la Denominación de Origen Rueda. Allí elaboran hasta 15 millones de botellas cada añada.

Variedades.

Su gama de vinos está compuesta, principalmente, por blancos elaborados con Verdejo, variedad reina de la zona. La bodega cuenta con más de 2.150 hectáreas de viñedo que se controla de forma minuciosa. Allí, además de la Verdejo, crecen otras variedades menos típicas en la zona como son la Sauvignon blanc, la Viura o la Palomino fino. Una pequeña parte de esos viñedos están ocupados por cepas centenarias, incluso prefiloxéricas. Estas parcelas son vendimiadas de forma manual, y en algunos casos por la noche, para obtener unos vinos más mimados. En la actualidad son 3 los enólogos encargados de la elaboración de los vinos de Cuatro Rayas, Ángel Calleja, Elena Oyagüe y Roberto Tello, quienes han aunado conocimientos y esfuerzos para que esta bodega continúe siendo un referente de la D.O. Rueda. Las instalaciones de Cuatro Rayas están divididas en dos bodegas. Ubicadas en la localidad vallisoletana de La Seca, ambas bodegas cuentan con las certificaciones de calidad British Retail Consulting e International Food Standard, necesarias para poder comercializar sus vinos más allá de nuestras fronteras. Sus constantes inversiones en tecnología, comercialización y comunicación y su “saber hacer” la convierten en una bodega de referencia en la Do Rueda.
