Español [ ES ]Fundada en 1924 por el propio Ramón Bilbao Murga, desde 1999 Bodegas Ramón Bilbao pertenece al Grupo Zamora, el cual pertenece a la familia Restoy Zamora. De su larga experiencia destaca su posición como empresa pionera en el “arte” de la crianza en barricas. Y de la última etapa, llama la atención su espectacular crecimiento (pasando de producir 600.000 botellas a 3.000.000 de botellas en la actualidad) y el plan de modernización de las instalaciones y del estilo de vinos debido, en gran parte, a la adquisición de viñedos en producción y de la plantación de nuevos majuelos en la Rioja. Ubicada en Haro, corazón del vino riojano, Ramón Bilbao es una de las bodegas con más tradición y predicamento en la Rioja Alta. Su larga singladura, apoyada en su excelente labor de campo y una enología moderna aplicada, la sitúan entre las marcas referentes del viñedo riojano. Su enólogo, Rodolfo Bastida, fue pieza activa en la renovación llevaba a cabo en la pasada década de los noventa para dar a los vinos riojanos mayor presencia frutal y concentración. Ramón Bilbao dispone de 180 hectáreas de viñedo propio y 818 más que controla de los viticultores de la región. En 2010, Ramón Bilbao extendió su radio de acción a la D.O. Rueda para elaborar interesantes verdejos. Con la añada 2016 estrenaron bodega propia en esta región, patria de la verdejo, donde ya cuentan con 60 hectáreas de viñedo.
El conjunto de edificios de las bodegas Ramón Bilbao se encuentra ubicado desde 1972 en una parcela de más de 7.000 metros cuadrados rodeada de viñedo y a las afueras de Haro, en la carretera a Casalarreina. Los edificios destinados a la elaboración cuentan con depósitos de acero inoxidable con control de temperatura y boca superior ancha para facilitar el bazuqueo y remontado manual. Las salas de barricas se agrupan en tres edificios diáfanos, uno de ellos con un nivel soterrado, adecuadamente climatizados y con el grado de humedad controlado. El botellero se halla en un calado subterráneo. La bodega de Haro alberga unas 15.000 barricas de roble francés y americano que se renuevan a cada 5 años. Los trasiegos se realizan con sumo cuidado y vaciando la barrica por gravedad cada 5 meses. El edificio central, por su parte, acoge la línea de embotellado, almacén y oficinas. Asimismo la bodega cuenta también con un centro de visitas, vinoteca y una sala profesional de catas. Todo ello contribuye a que las Bodegas Ramón Bilbao sea una de las cinco bodegas más visitadas de Rioja.
