Historia.

Campillo (1990) es una de las firmas que marcaron la modernidad riojana y una de las bodegas más representativas de Rioja Alavesa. Ubicada en Laguardia, corazón de Rioja Alavesa, está considerada la bodega ‘boutique’ y más exclusiva del Grupo Faustino: uno de los grandes grupos bodegueros del país, dirigido por una saga centenaria. Con Campillo, Julio Faustino Martínez vio cumplido su sueño de crear una bodega a imagen de los ‘châteaux’ franceses, ya que apostaba por un concepto innovador, con los propios viñedos rodeando las instalaciones. Además, Campillo fue una de las primeras apuestas por la arquitectura de vanguardia, y sus impresionantes instalaciones siguen estando de plena actualidad. Campillo pretende ofrecer en sus vinos la máxima expresión de la tempranillo. Persiguiendo ese objetivo, el Grupo Faustino decidió ubicar este proyecto en el término de Laguardia donde adquirió 50 hectáreas de viñedo. Después amplió este patrimonio vitícola con 50 ha más en las cercanías de la Sierra de Cantabria. En total, 100 hectáreas de viñas -distribuidas a una distancia máxima de 10 km de la bodega-, cultivadas sobre suelos pobres que otorgan bajos rendimientos de frutos muy estructurados y con buena acidez, perfectos para concebir vinos expresivos que soportan largas crianzas en roble y tienen gran capacidad de guarda. Elegancia, frescura y perfil frutal perfectamente ensamblado con las notas de la barrica son las características que definen a sus vinos.

Trayectoria.

Julio Faustino con su pasión por los vinos es el origen de Bodegas Campillo. Ese sueño dio forma a una bodega que fue la primera en Rioja que se contruye con un proyecto arquitectónico. Las Bodegas Campillo son un proyecto 100% familiar y su filosofía se basa en la elaboración de vinos de máxima calidad. Para ello, son propietarios de largas extensiones de cultivo de viñas que les permite tener el máximo control en la uva dando una personalidad clara a sus vinos. Además, cuentan con modernas instalaciones como las bóvedas góticas de piedra en las cuales se envejecen los vinos en barrica o madera. Campillo nace de un sueño: crear una bodega rodeada de viñedos, a modo y semejanza de los Château franceses. En tierras riojanas se ha construido un espacio arquitectónico que se abre a la Sierra Cantabria y Laguardia. Al subir su gran escalinata y traspasar sus puertas se puede sentir lo que impulsó a Julio Faustino Martínez a compartir, desde Campillo, sus dos grandes pasiones: el vino y la arquitectura.
