Las Bodegas Terras Gauda se asientan en un paraje privilegiado en el valle de O Rosal, muy cerca de la desembocadura del Río Miño por tierras de A Guarda. Los viñedos de Bodegas Terras Gauda se encuentran situados entre 50 y 150 m. de altitud sobre el nivel del mar, y gozan de un microclima excepcional caracterizado por temperaturas suaves, con una media anual de 15º C, heladas muy escasas y abundantes precipitaciones. Este microclima propicia una excelente maduración, con elevado contenido de azúcares y con una acidez menor que en otras zonas más al norte de la Denominación de Origen Rías Baixas, más fluctuantes cualitativamente por cuestiones climáticas. Es una pionera entre las bodegas elaboradoras de albariño en la D.O. Rías Baixas; Terras Gauda es un referente a la hora de analizar la magnífica evolución de los blancos españoles a lo largo de los últimos años. Su trayectoria comenzó en 1990, en el corazón O Rosal, la subzona más meridional de la denominación. Terras Gauda cuenta con las últimas tecnologías para la vinificación y pasó de elaborar 37.000.- botellas en el año 1990, a 1.300.000 botellas anuales. Dispone aproximadamente de 160 hectáreas de viñedo, de las cuales 87 son en propiedad y en la mejor zona de O Rosal, siendo la variedad dominante el albariño. También cultivan otras uvas autóctonas como la caiño, unas 33 has y la loureira con 10 has. Con el tiempo, el grupo Terras Gauda ha ido incorporando otras empresas a la bodega gallega original. En 2002 comenzó su expansión con la compra de Bodegas Pittacum en la D. O. Bierzo; ocho años más tarde, dio el salto a la región del Duero, agregando a su portafolio los vinos de Quinta Sardonia. El círculo empresarial de Terras Gauda se completa con una nueva línea de negocio, oriunda también de O Rosal: La conservera A Rosaleira.
