Español [ ES ]En el año 1985 Miquel Gelabert funda la bodega que hoy lleva su nombre. Desde entonces y hasta el día de hoy, Miquel Gelabert ha sufrido muchos cambios, siempre destinados a mejorar la calidad de sus uvas y de sus vinos. Combina la más moderna tecnología con la tradición más artesana para ofrecer unos vinos cuidados y mimados hasta el más mínimo detalle. Desde los primeros años estos vinos han conseguido importantes premios y menciones y han sido objeto de grandes elogios tanto dentro como fuera de nuestras fronteras. Con el esmero y dedicación de Miquel Gelabert, hoy estamos en condiciones de ofrecer una amplia variedad de vinos de alta calidad capaces de satisfacer los paladares más exigentes. Miquel Gelabert elabora, de forma artesanal, una amplia gama de vinos blancos, tintos y rosados desde su pequeña bodega de Manacor, en Mallorca, con etiquetas originales pintadas por artistas colaboradores.
En el año 1985 en Mallorca, Miquel Gelabert y su esposa Maria Miquel, enamorados del buen vino, empiezan a elaborar vino de los viñedos de la familia como un pasatiempo. Ante la excelente calidad obtenida, empiezan a comercializarlo en su propio restaurante y acaban fundando la bodega de elaboración de vinos que hoy lleva su nombre. Vins Miquel Gelabert nace como una pequeña empresa familiar destinada a investigar y profundizar en el cuidado de la vid y en la elaboración de vinos de alta calidad, pues solamente elabora de 40.000 a 45.000 litros al año dependiendo de la cosecha. Actualmente once pequeñas fincas componen las 9 ha de viña que producen las uvas de sus vinos, se encuentran la mayoría en el municipio de Manacor y algunas en Felanitx y Petra, y están todas inscritas en D.O.P. Pla i Llevant de Mallorca. Cultivan todas las uvas que elaboran y no compran uvas a terceros, de esta manera controlan todo el proceso de producción.
En el año 1985, Miquel Gelabert aprende de los viejos viticultores el arte y los secretos del cultivo de las viñas y combina la más moderna tecnología con la tradición más artesana con el objetivo de obtener el máximo de sus uvas y así ofrecer unos vinos con personalidad y carácter. Desde los primeros años, estos vinos han conseguido importantes premios y menciones, y son objeto de grandes elogios tanto dentro, como fuera de nuestras fronteras. Más de 150 premios (la mayoría medallas de oro) en los últimos años, avalan la trayectoria de la bodega, y su filosofía sigue siendo la de sorprender día a día a quien prueba sus vinos. La utilización del frío y el buen estado de la uva garantizan una buena elaboración, donde se respeta al máximo las peculiaridades de cada uva, ya que los vinos fermentan sin la ayuda de levaduras seleccionadas, siendo las propias de cada uva las que van a marcar su carácter. La crianza de los vinos se realiza en barricas de 225 y 300 litros de roble: francés 80% y americano 20%, que se renuevan un 30-40% cada año; en la fermentación de los blancos de crianza las barricas son nuevas cada año. La crianza en barrica de los vinos tintos y la crianza en botella de todos los vinos se realiza en la cava subterránea de una antigua del año 1909, donde el silencio, la tranquilidad y las inmejorables condiciones de temperatura y humedad hacen del lugar el sitio ideal para el envejecimiento y conservación del vino.
