Creación de un sueño.

Cuando decidieron poner la primera piedra de su proyecto, hace ya más de 20 años, el entorno y el peso de la tradición marcaron cada paso que dieron. Las generaciones que les precedieron ya habían colaborado en la concepción de su sueño. Esta bodega lo puso en pie y le enseñó a caminar. No sólo se habla de vino. El concepto es mucho más amplio y denso. La tradición, el terreno, el carácter... todo ello ocupa un espacio en nuestra bodega. El origen de Vallobera se remonta a 1990, cuando Javier San Pedro y Ana Ortega decidieron continuar la tradición familiar y elaborar vino en su localidad natal, la hermosa ciudad amurallada de Laguardia. Aunque comenzaron elaborando vinos jóvenes, en 1992 dieron el salto con su primer crianza. El viñedo que trabaja Javier San Pedro tiene una edad media de 30 años y se encuentra repartido por los términos de Leza, Elvillar, Páganos, Navaridas, Elciego y, sobre todo, Laguardia, a una altura de entre 500 y 650 metros y al abrigo de la Sierra de Cantabria, que lo protege de las tormentas del norte.
